Soccer Captain’s Information:

Our PASL soccer community is massive — packed with players who love the game and captains who somehow juggle lineups, subs, and group chats like seasoned midfielders. Below you’ll find some friendly guidelines for our soccer captains and the players who keep this league running smoother than a clean first touch. If anything here leaves you scratching your head like a ref looking for a missing whistle, just ask — we’re always happy to help keep the beautiful game beautiful.

Soccer League Directory & Officials

Running this adult soccer league is a passionate side hobby — not a full‑time empire — but after kicking things off back in 2003, we’ve built a system that runs smoother than a perfect through‑ball. Our certified referees have years of experience officiating recreational soccer games across the Valley, and they know how to keep matches flowing without turning every foul into a courtroom drama. Still, we rely on our soccer captains to help guide their teams, calm the chaos, and keep the beautiful game… well, beautiful. A little leadership goes a long way toward making every match enjoyable for players from Tempe, Chandler, Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Gilbert.

How to Register a Team

Ready to join the fun? Registering a team is easier than scoring an open‑net tap‑in. Just reach out to the League Director, share your team name, and send over any artwork you want featured in the online store. We’ll set up your payment option, your players can start paying, and boom — you’re officially on your way to Friday‑night soccer glory. No red tape, no VAR review, just simple steps to get your squad into the league.

Soccer Payments

To keep things simple (and to save captains from chasing teammates like they’re defending a counterattack), the league collects payments directly from each player. Captains just need to remind their players to pay — ideally before the season starts, not five minutes before kickoff. We even have a live webpage showing who has paid and who’s still “warming up.” Teams must hit the minimum number of paid players before being added to the schedule, so don’t wait until the last whistle.

Soccer Jerseys

Need jerseys? We’ve got you covered — literally. Teams can order matching numbered shirts directly through the league, with both cotton and polyester options available. It keeps things simple, makes it easy to add new players mid‑season, and ensures everyone looks like they belong on the same team instead of a pickup game at the park. Just pick a color and stick with it.

Prefer to buy your own? Totally fine. Our small markup on league shirts simply covers costs — we’re not trying to become the Amazon of soccer apparel. Our vendor, Explosion Sportswear, helps us keep things consistent so every team hits the field looking sharp and ready to play.

Soccer Rosters

Every team needs a proper soccer roster — not the “I think that guy played for us once” version. We build an initial roster based on online payments, but sometimes the list of who paid and who actually shows up don’t match (shocking, we know). That’s why we rely on soccer captains to review their roster, make updates, and confirm who’s officially part of the squad. Think of it as your team’s VAR check… but with fewer arguments.

Soccer Schedules

We try our best to keep the soccer schedule steady, predictable, and drama‑free — but sometimes life throws a curveball (or a rain cloud). While we avoid last‑minute changes, they do happen, so always double‑check the schedule during the week and even on game day. If you spot something weird — missing dates, wrong field, or a matchup that looks like it was generated by a confused algorithm — let the league know so we can fix it before kickoff.

Medical Coverage

Soccer is fun, but it’s also a sport where legs, lungs, and gravity occasionally disagree. Everyone is strongly encouraged to have their own medical insurance, because the league does not provide coverage. Short‑term accident policies are surprisingly affordable, and an insurance broker can help you find one that fits your needs. Just make sure you understand what’s covered before you sprint onto the field like a hero.

Waivers

Every player in the league must complete a waiver — no exceptions, no slide‑tackling the paperwork. You can download it, sign it, and hand it to any official. Captains are responsible for collecting waivers from their players and getting them to the league coordinator. It’s quick, painless, and way easier than explaining why your team is missing half its roster on game day.

Referees / Officials

We’ve got a solid crew of soccer referees who work hard to keep games fair, fun, and flowing — but yes, they’re human, and yes, humans occasionally miss a call. Mistakes happen at every level of soccer, from recreational leagues to the pros. If you ever have an issue with a particular referee, just let the league know. No need for dramatic reenactments or slow‑motion protests.

Rain Outs

When weather threatens to turn the field into a slip‑and‑slide, we’ll update the league website and email captains as quickly as possible. Always check the standings/schedule page for the latest info. As a general rule: we play unless the City closes the fields. If the fields are open, we’re playing — bring cleats, not excuses.
